It began life as a single title, with a very slow development rate that seemed to slow down drastically after they introduced a crate-and-key lootbox system to the game and switched their focus to supporting big battle-royale-style PvP games. H1Z1 is an example of questionable Early Access use by devs, and I advise people who ask not to bother on it.
